A Postcard from Villefranche-de-Rouergue

Villefranche-de-Rouergue, in the Aveyron department of southern France, was founded by Alphonse de Poitiers in 1252 as a bastide town. Its central square, Place Notre Dame, is dominated by thirteenth-century townhouses and La Collégiale Notre-Dame.
